One voice that’s not been heard much in the trans debate is the trans youth themselves. Here I interviewed some. TW: mentions of abuse and assault

The fact that the cia has a better approval rating than the DOE and FED is why this country is fucked
Union busting by Mayo Clinic. After working people ragged during COVID wherein nurses saved thousands of lives, this is unacceptable.
Mayo literally threatened to pull out of Rochester if people unionized, which would strand thousands of patients with extremely complex needs without a hospital and screw over the community in Minnesota.
They’re literally threatening to not provide care if people unionize, this is why we need socialized medicine
Get first aid certified, protect yourself and others, put quick clot and tourniquets in your aid kits, protect your friends. This could be bad.

Several people have (correctly) pointed out in chat some of the xenophobic aspects of the article and it’s focus on terror groups like ISIS. I definitely think it’s worth noting that Islamic terrorism is not that main thing to be worried about at Pride this year, it’s domestic terrorism. Why this article is focused on Islamic fundamentalism is likely it’s uncritically parroting the state department, who wants to shift focus from the far more pressing issue of white nationalism to Islamic extremism for geopolitical reasons (fearmonger the gays into supporting Israel).

This is good to post and I appreciate the encouragement to get first aid trained, however this article is a little sus in its intention.

Like first of all they make the focus foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs) yet do not cite any specific threats.

Secondly, they only mention 2 attacks made by the Islamic State: the pulse night club attack from eight years ago and an attack made in Vienna last year.

Yet they make no mention of any white supremacist/ right wing attacks when honestly I am significantly more afraid of those since the US is a white nationalist breeding ground and most terrorist attacks in America come from those camps (1). Like there are more common and more recent right-wing queerphobic attacks than Islamic ones.

This article is hella fishy tbh, given what's going on with palestine and the constant mainstream and right-wing Islamophobia trying to paint all Muslims as rabid queerphobes, I wonder if this is trying to further cement the association with Islam and queerphobia. Esp given that most left leaning camps support Palestine, I wonder if this is just trying to chew at the edges of that support by trying to target queer shitlibs who are looking for any reason to drop Palestinian support.
